Prof. Alfredo Pina, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Public University of Navarra, Spain. http://acuario.gsd.unavarra.es/gsd/miembros/apc.htm Abstract: The European Universities are developing a reform process in order to adapt themselves to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) formally defined since the declaration of Bologna. An important part of that process will require organizational changes about teaching and learning at 2 levels: a Macro level where Universities will have to carry out the design of Educational Plans for the different degrees, and a Micro level, where every Lecturer (or group of Lecturers) will have to deal with his/her own subject. An important part of the changes is focused in the use of new technologies, more specifically the use of the known as platforms of e-learning, used like tools of communication and collaboration that facilitate the management of the different resources that are handled by the teaching staff (Macro level); moreover they are a natural way to improve the educational methodology in which the convergence to EHEA is sustained (Micro level). The first part of the talk will focus on the Convergence at the European level; while the second part will report on how e-learning can be used towards European Convergence.
